My School Journey
I went to nine primary schools across the world as a child as my dad was in the RAF. This gave me the opportunity to learn about a variety of cultures and learn some new languages. I loved school and remember my teachers well. My favourite subject was P.E as I was inspired by my teacher who was very talented at Hockey and guided me to play for the county women’s team. Throughout school I learnt very practically and enjoyed reading about World War 2. I have always wanted to help others so feel it is very fitting that I am the SMSC lead at Shepherdswell. I qualified as a Primary School Teacher in July 2018 but have worked in schools in both Milton Keynes and Wiltshire for the last nine years.
What Shepherdswell means to me:
I joined Shepherdswell in September 2018 as a teacher in Year 1 and am enjoying teaching this age group very much. When training to be a teacher I was very lucky to have six weeks training at Shepherdswell. I loved the way the school ethos was to achieve together and feel they do this very well. The children are very special and make my job more rewarding. I feel part of a helpful, supportive team who are all on a journey together to give the children the best possible start to their education. I am very lucky to work at this school and aspire to be the best I can.
